The Nevada Clay Guild attempts to provide opportunities for it's members to learn from accomplished ceramic artists by providing workshops and other learning events. It also encourages them to enter local and national shows and submit work for entry into books, magazines and juried events. Even monthly meetings usually include an instructional or hands-on component. Below are descriptions of some of the events and activities the Guild has been involved with in the past. July, 2003: Yixing Workshop

Xiaoping Luo and Junya Shao brought 300 years of traditional Yixing pottery to Nevada. Xiaoping made dramatic sculptural pieces from slabs while Junya demonstrated the traditional method employed to make teapots. Using paddled slabs, Junya demonstrated a method of working with clay that few attendees had seen.
