Nevada Clay Guild Calendar of Events 2011-2012

Fifth Annual Juried Members Show:

"Diversity in Clay by

Members of the Nevada Clay Guild"

December 8, 2011 – February 5, 2012

The goal of the Nevada Clay Guild is to inspire excellence

and growth in clay art through education, exhibitions and a

cooperative spirit. Our members work with various clays- earthenware,

stoneware, and porcelain. We fire and decorate our ceramics at a variety of

temperatures, using electric, gas, propane, wood and soda kilns as well as pit

firing and raku firing. Our work may be functional, decorative or sculptural.

Some of the members throw on the potter’s wheel, others hand build, and

many combine methods of construction.

This year our exhibit is juried by professional potter, Jason Hess, Associate

Professor in the School of Art at Northern Arizona University, Flagstaff, AZ.

Please join us at the reception.

We are also proud sponsors of the annual Nevada’s Empty Bowls Benefit in

which we raised over $30,000 to feed the hungry in Las Vegas in 2011. The

next Empty Bowls benefit will be on March 10, 2012, at Green Valley High

School.
