All positions are a 24-month term. Members volunteer to run for the positions and are voted in by the membership.

Meet Our Board

Vice President: Beth Sylvester

Assist the President in fulfilling his/her duties of office.

Assume the duties of the President when he/she is not available.

Plan monthly activities with the help of the Board.

Secretary: Kathy Peregoy

Coordinate all correspondence necessary for the support of the group as directed by the Board.

Take attendance at all board meetings and activities.

Take minutes of member business meetings and board meetings and upload in NCG Google Drive

Treasurer: Jennifer Davison

Responsible for all funds of the Guild, and shall deposit all such funds in the name of the Guild in such bank, trust companies or other depositories as shall be selected by the Board. Funds shall be deposited no later than two weeks after being received.

Shall maintain financial records of the Guild and will keep those records available for review by the Board and members.

The Treasurer shall bring a general balance sheet to all monthly member meetings

Prepare and present a financial report to the Board at every board meeting that includes an itemized.

Shall be responsible for all official financial statements and keep these official records in good order until the end of their term. These records will then be passed to the new treasurer upon the completion of the present term.

File taxes with the Federal Government:

Maintain records of any donations for a minimum period of 7 years.

Promote guild membership in the community at large

Encourage membership renewal within the Nevada Clay Guild itself through timely renewal mailings.

Monitor dues and deposit for new and renewing members into the Nevada Clay Guild account

Update, adds or removes members from roster

Maintain current database of the member roster: including email, phone number and address

Update all board members quarterly with a revised membership roster electronically maintained in the Google Drive

Welcome new members and maintains “Welcome Packet,” including: Welcome Letter and latest copy or electronic version of the newsletter

Newsletter: Melinda Stender

Publish a NCG newsletter in January, April, July, October, on a quarterly basis.

Begin working on the newsletter (newsletter) a month in advance by sending out deadlines and requests for submissions for material to the Board and membership. This can including: requests for classified advertisements, for information regarding anyone who should be congratulated for any noteworthy clay accomplishment, or other information wanted by the membership.

Send the draft to the Board for proofing, allowing the board time to review the newsletter draft.

Email the newsletter to the membership roster by the third week of the month, every quarter.

Have copies made of the newsletter & mail the newsletter to members who do not have email or have requested a hard copy of the newsletter.

Retain receipts of the expenditures for reimbursement from the treasurer.

Coordinate all NCG activities

Responsible for publicizing NCG events in social media, newspapers,

Work with the Board to develop a press release for NCG Events as needed.

Act as liaison between other organizations and the community. Publicize the group in and around the community with the help of other board members

Help develop and distribute any additional publicity the Board deems necessary.

Keep records on publicity.

Responsible for keeping an updated calendar of Guild meetings and activities

Communicate monthly calendar with details to the newsletter editor

Social Media: Rosie Benito-Dumo

Monitor and moderate all social media accounts, to include but not limited to: Facebook, Instagram, and *Pinterest

Monitor and maintain how the Guild is presented in the online presence

Make sure to add new members to the Facebook membership page, also remove those who are no longer active

Maintain the website in a timely manner

Help monitor the online presence of Nevada Clay Guild

Maintain the Google Workspace Suites for the officers and directors

If you need assistance, or have any concerns or problems with someone in one of these positions, please discuss your concern with another board member. If you become/are a board member and need to step down from your position at any time during your term, please notify the Board at least 30 days in advance so that a replacement can be found. If the Chair or Officer  is unable to fulfill the obligations of their position, ultimate responsibility falls back to the Board. Board members are responsible to publicize the group in and around the community. Board members should be familiar with or willing to learn Google Suites or other websites/apps associated with your position.
